Here is a quote from the book, When Your Body Says No by Gabor Mate, MD:

..."There are ongoing negative effects on the body's hormonal and immune systems, since people with indistinct personal boundaries live with stress; it is a permanent part of their daily experience to be encroached upon by others. However, that is a reality they have learned to exclude from direct awareness."

Through awareness you can take better care of yourself holistically; define what is necessary for you to live with less stress; and determine the actions to take that will lead to others learning and respecting your boundaries.
If you would like some help with this, I’d be happy to coach you through this.
...Your Luminosity Coach

Is leadership your passion or just your job?

Are you clear? So much so that when you do even if just a little, you may be "looking" for the hurt again. That which we look for we usually see manifest. Become aware of when you start to criticize yourself internally, lovingly tell that part of your innerself that it no longer serves you, and move to a place where your inner coach resides - hang out there for a while.

...your luminosity coach

Are you the change you wish to see?

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." One has a fascinating marketing background and shared how she is always seeing a need well prior to the rest of the world and that never stops her! Instead she moves forward excited about doing something that has never been done before. Not only was she contagious with her enthusiasm about her current concept, but she had a very detailed understanding of how she was going to execute on it.

One can easily get stuck in "the world isn't ready for this yet" when a great idea comes to mind as well as get caught up in nay sayers' opinions. Pull up the courage to keep the eye on that prize and move toward it!

This is the time of year we start planning our holiday parties, family gatherings, and New Years Eve Plans. Keep that planning going...but don't forget to plan for how you intend to reach that stretch goal! Create a list of things you can do right now, this week, and the last months of the year to reach it. Look at that list everyday and move with it. And if it has to carry into next year or is a goal for next year...plan the year out carefully. Categorize everything you can do to make it happen and decide how much of each is required. Then back into the year by month based on that.

Need any help with that...call your luminosity coach!

All the best! I was asking myself if this was a direct result of my recent stress level – quite high. I realized that my body was just saying, “no more, now rest.”. So, I have taken some of today to do just that. I wanted some simple reading so I googled “when the body says no”…And what I found was a book by the same name and the author is Gabor Mate.
I read the first few pages of the first chapter which spoke of a girl named Mary who became ill with the disease Scleroderma. It was as if I was meant to read it to remind myself how blessed I am with my own health and how unimportant the things we stress over are. It’s so very important to give yourself the permission to say no to stress and yes to health. I immediately called my sister who’s story is the story of Mary in the first chapter - without the foster care part. We laughed and cried at the irony. I pray that more people just say no - so that there is only ease and no longer dis-ease.
I’ve shared a couple of excerpts below from the book:
“Perhaps her body was doing what her mind could not: throwing off the relentless expectation that had been first imposed on the child and now was self-imposed in the adult – placing others above herself.” …”When we have been prevented from learning how to say no, our bodies may end up saying it for us. I cited some of the medical literature discussing the negative effects of stress on the immune system.”
If you decide to buy this book…please go through my web-site. I’ll donate the proceeds – whatever they are to help patients with Scleroderma. http://luminositycoaching.com/Contact_Us.html

emotional intelligence

"Experience is not what happens to you - it's how you interpret what happens to you." —Aldous Huxley

Check in with yourself today and see how you are interpreting your experience(s). One who understands the profound truths that clarify and simplify reality and can communicate these liberating visions to others through dialogue and presence.
This view is one-fourth of leadership, but since those who hold it are excellent communicators, it gets considerably more press than the three other types of equally-valid leadership.
There is also leadership in a situation that everyone already understands but which few can face. On the battlefield, there is the leader who raises his head and charges into the oncoming fire to blaze a path for others to follow, inspiring those who are frozen in fear and unable to do what they know they must. After an airplane crash in the Potomac river, a man jumped into the freezing water to swim out to passengers and tow them back to shore. They were uninjured but too shocked to swim half the distance he swam. There is the woman who galvanizes a community to action against the pollution they all know about but have passively accepted. This leadership is also evident in the businesswoman who inspires the company to a higher standard of quality: it's the courage to do what's hard but known, instead of the insight to do what's simple but unknown.
There is another kind of leadership that knits together a group of people who could not get along with each other without the leader's harmonizing influence. This is not a hierarchical leadership that explains a theory to the ignorant masses or shows extraordinary courage in a crisis. This is a leader who might be invisible to the group, until he or she leaves, whereupon the group falls into divergence. This leader operates like the heart in the body: the head gets all the credit, but the heart establishes the heart-rate on its own from polling the organs and muscles directly, independent of the brain.
The last kind of leader is one who is very conscious of leadership, accepting the burden of it not for any glory or fame, but simply because they must; it is their responsibility. A leader of this type is dependable; he will carry you across the river on his back; he will hold you safe so that you do not drown. She will take your thorny faults and hide them under her own coat, even through they scratch her skin, until they are eventually rubbed smooth. This leader's path is not detachment; it is attachment; it is duty, and he will not fail you.
The path to developing leadership is to first recognize which kind of leader you are, and then perfect it. Next, stretch to develop a neighboring style of leadership, integrating it with your own.
In this development, some concepts are useful, but most important is the practice of meditation. The meditation that develops the power of the leader is not regarding the world as impermanent from a detached observance. It is a meditation of love, in which one identifies with all that is. We do not aspire to experience no thought; we aspire to experience all emotion. One does not find one's self by elimination, but by inclusion. Our chief problem is a narrow self-concept; the truth about ourselves is that we are infinite, eternal and perfect. To become fulfilled, which is our purpose in life, we must incorporate the eagle, the lion, the rabbit and the snake -- that's how we overcome ignorance, anger, greed and jealousy. We submit the mind and ego to the service of the heart, with love.
Our practice starts simply: put your hand on your heart, then you will speak differently. Now breathe through your heart, in time to your heartbeat. Use your breath to exchange love with the world. In a few more steps, you'll be sending out a powerful magnetic pulse that is literally broadcasting peace into the world. This is active, Heart Rhythm Meditation, and it's more effective at handling stress than any other kind of meditation. It's also more beneficial for the physical heart, and we can prove it medically. Most importantly, it brings a person into a closer connection with and more profound understanding of others. It develops creativity, not just clarity. It powers responsibility and the courage to take action, not just compassion. This is the meditation of our time. This will shift our culture from the mind to the heart.

What type of leader are you?

"You do not lead by hitting people over the head - that's assault, not leadership." Dwight D. Intent is life itself; it is unconditional love. The Mastery of Intent is therefore the Mastery of Love."

From the book The Four Agreements by Don Miquel Ruiz

Quieting The Mind

Become even a little more aware of yourself, you'll notice a constant reality: our minds are always chattering...inner dialog, commentary, judgment.. Who is talking to whom, and why? With our attention taken up by this nonstop inner chatter, we cannot hear our own inner wisdom. As we become more relaxed and aware, we understand that the "normal" way the mind works is trance like, unfocused, and chaotic, whereas the quiet mind has qualities of sobriety, clarity, and steadiness.....Our senses are sharp, colors and sounds are vivid - everything seems eternally fresh and alive....mind expansion!
